OUR PHILOSOPHY

Waumba Club After-School Program strives to be supportive
of every child and family and for them to receive
the highest quality of programming that we can offer.
We are committed to and believe in:
- Supporting each child’s unique physical, social, emotional,spiritual,
cognitive and creative development
 - Promoting positive character traits in children, such as:
trustworthiness, respect for others and themselves, responsibility,
fairness, compassion and citizenship
A child’s self-esteem is best built by experiencing genuine successes
and thus we will provide an enriched and varied environment
where children can follow their interests and are allowed to
choose for themselves what they want to do.

OUR TEAM

Our team is made up of staff and volunteers committed to providing a quality
program for the children of Kamloops. Staff have schooling,
training and expertise in working with children and volunteers
bring a wealth of talents, skills and resources to enrich our program.

 

TRANSPORTATION

Children will be transported to the centre and on outings in the program’s vehicles.
Pick up will include the following schools:
A.E. Perry
Arthur Hatton
Bert Edwards
George Hillard
John Tod
Kay Bingham
Parkcrest
Westmount
Lloyd George

 

MEALS AND SNACKS

Nutritious snacks are provided by the centre in the afternoon.
Lunch on school in-service days is provided by Waumba Club.
Children to bring a lunch on half-day school closures.

 

FACILITY INFORMATION

Waumba Club After-School Program is located in Kamloops Alliance Church,
which offers over 15,000 square feet for the program, including:
Full Gymnasium, Youth Room with Ping Pong, Fosse Ball & Big Screen TV
Computer Lab, Library, Commercial Kitchen, Arts and Crafts Room

 

 

REGISTRATION FEES

Please contact Waumba Club After-School Program at 376-6300 to receive
a full parent package which includes a registration form.
- Fee for full-time enrollment is $290 per month.
- Part-time enrollment is $14.50 per day.
- Family rates are available for additional children.
25% off for second child, & 50% off for third child.
Government subsidy is available for after-school care.
A bursary program is also available for families who qualify.

 

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

Regular School Days ( Bus picks up children at area schools):
2:30 - 6:45pm
Half School Closure Days (Bus picks up children at area schools):
12:30 - 6:45pm
Professional/ In-Service days (Parents drop off children):
8:00am - 6:45pm
We are closed on:
Stat holidays, Christmas break, Springbreak, and summer
