Vision Statement

Kamloops Alliance Church... Rivers of life... flowing to our city and beyond

Purpose

Our purpose as a church is distilled into the following purpose statement:

We at Kamloops Alliance Church will worship God by loving Him and those around us.  We will reach out to people, invite them into God’s family, equip them to be like Jesus and send them out to serve in their community and around the world.

Mission

Our mission is “to be passionate followers of Jesus and help others to be the same.”

We aim to become a biblically functioning community by helping seekers and believers become fully devoted followers of Christ.  By this we mean that we would exemplify the character and activities that the early church possessed as written of in Acts. 2: 42-47.

Specifically we exist to prayerfully do and be six things:

1.  Worship: We celebrate God's presence in worship

We exist to provide opportunities corporately and personally to exalt, worship and glorify God and stimulate people to encounter God on an ongoing basis.

2.  Evangelism: We communicate God's Word through outreach

We exist to reach people who do not know Jesus personally with the good news of Jesus’ sacrifice for them.  We will encourage our congregation to seek out and befriend the un-churched and train them to capitalize on opportunities to show and tell their friends of the love of Christ.  Opportunities to bring friends to non threatening ‘seeker sensitive’ meetings and events will be ongoing.

3.  Discipleship: We educate God's people through discipleship

We exist to help believers understand and apply the Bible to their everyday lives; view the world through a Christian worldview; establish a consistent devotional life; and encourage believers to become committed members in this local body.  Maturity in Christ is exemplified by having the character and lifestyle of Jesus, not simply an intellectual understanding of Christianity.

4.  Service: We demonstrate God's love through service

We exist to train our people to know and use the spiritual giftedness that the Holy Spirit has given them.  This is one avenue for followers of Jesus to experience purpose and belonging in our fellowship and ministry in our local community.  The result will be that the Kingdom of God will be expanded in our church and community.

5  Community: We incorporate God's family into our fellowship

We exist to personify the essence of the “trinity” which is the ultimate “community”.  This will be a place where God's love, justice and grace are demonstrated in word and in deed.  Love, acceptance and forgiveness are fundamental principles by which we operate and selfless service is the avenue that Jesus' love will touch many lives.
